A few days ago, I put my teenage daughter on a plane to France.

It was one of those big parenting moments. Emotional, tender, and a little surreal.

She’s staying with our beloved exchange student’s family, and while I trust she’s in good hands and off having a life-changing experience, it still brought up a wave of emotion I didn’t quite expect.

And now, with fewer mom duties and a quieter house, I’ve found myself with more spaciousness.

Not just in my schedule, but in my nervous system. And in that space, things have started to rise.

Not the usual catch-up list or projects, but the deeper things. The parts of me that haven’t had room to be seen or felt while life was moving fast.

This situation has brought a lot to the surface. The broken bone. The shift in rhythm. The moments that ask me to sit with the grief, the fear, the frustration, and the full weight of this situation.

And that has led me into a more vulnerable space.

Vulnerability hasn’t always come easily to me. Years ago, a coach said something that has stayed with me ever since:
“People don’t just need your expertise. They need your humanity.”

That truth continues to reveal itself again and again.

In this week’s BrainBodyBiome LIVE, I opened up about what this situation is really stirring up for me and shared a tool I’ve been using to help support the nervous system when shock is present.  You can check out that video HERE

Your response has blown me away. Your messages, comments, and support have reminded me how powerful it is to be real with each other and to be in community.  Thank you!

If you’ve been navigating something big lately or if old trauma seems to be resurfacing, check out this

And In the video above,  I’m walking you through another version of the technique I shared during the live session. It is something simple and effective you can try right away.

If you want to hear more of the why behind it and get the full context of my healing process, I hope you’ll take time to watch the full replay from this week’s LIVE.

Here’s to showing up mess and all,

Kelly 💗
