Do you ever feel like Sunday evenings come with their own special brand of anxiety?

I totally get it.  The Sunday Scaries are real!

Back when I was in school and an overacheiving people pleaser Sundays were always tough for me.  Cue the intense anxiety disguised as “stomach aches” and dread.

I spent alot of energy worrying about if I had done enough to be ready for that exam or maybe I needed to write one more draft of that paper.  Did I mention that I was also a perfectionist then too?

If only I had the nervous system regulation tools back then that I do now!

Fast forward to today, and the Sunday Scaries still show up—just with a new twist. These days, it’s juggling work, school meetings, and being an Uber Mom, often while my husband is traveling for work. It often feels as though if one piece of my carefully coordinated week goes off course the whole plan would unravel.

While I might have a few moments of the Sunday Scaries it doesn’t show up as stomach aches or dread and it doesn’t camp out in my mind or body since I’ve done SO much work to heal my nervous system. I no longer live in fight, flight, freeze and trust that I’ll be able to handle whatever curve ball might come my way.

By using somatic movements to integrate the nervous system, I’ve found ways to ease into the week with a clearer mind and a lot less stress and I have the joy of helping others do this as well.

Imagine a Sunday night where instead of feeling overwhelmed, you’re relaxed and ready for the week ahead. Monday morning won’t feel like a mountain to climb, but a fresh start.
