You Don’t Have to Choose Between Calm and Energy

I hear some version of this all the time:

“I want to feel calmer…but I don’t want to feel tired or checked out.”

It makes sense. Somewhere along the way, we started treating calm and energy as if they live on opposite ends of a spectrum.

If you’re calm, you must be completely slowed down.

If you have energy, you must be going, going, going.

But calm and energy aren’t opposites.

You can feel grounded, present, and connected to your body AND still have the energy to think clearly, get things done, and engage with your life.

In fact, for high achievers, this is often the piece that gets missed.

We get really good at creating MORE energy.

More stimulation. More caffeine. Push through. Try harder. Keep going.

Then, when we realize we need to slow things down, we assume the answer is the complete opposite.

Sit still. Shut everything down. Do nothing.

But what if your brain and body don’t need MORE energy or LESS energy?

What if they need better-organized energy?

That’s what I mean by calm energy.

Not checked out.

Not revved up.

Grounded AND energized.

And you don’t necessarily have to sit still to find it.

Movement can actually be one of the ways we help the brain and body shift into that sweet spot.

That’s why I created the short brain-body flow in the video above. Give it a try and notice what happens.

Do you feel more awake? More grounded? More focused?

You might be surprised by how different calm feels when the goal isn’t to shut your energy down.
