Deena Weisberg
Deena Pearlman Weisberg is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais teacher. After a twelve year career as a professional producer in television, she went to New York to study acting, where she was hit by a car. Subsequently, she spent the next ten years of her life searching for healing from her injuries. She studied with numerous teachers who were direct disciples of Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, including Harriet Goslins, Jeremy Krause, Jerry Karzen and Anat Baniel. She is also trained and certified in the Anat Baniel method for working with developmentally challenged kids. She brings several other modalities to her work with children and adults, including energy work and cranial-sacral techniques.
Deena says, “…I will utilize whatever techniques are appropriate to the individual client’s needs to help a student find the awareness that empowers them to marshal their body’s own healing mechanisms! The beauty of the Feldenkrais method is that it is based largely on the body’s biomechanics and central nervous system. I am excited to join the likeminded and accomplished practitioners who apply an inspired team approach to restoring function and supporting wellness after injury, illness trauma, or simply the stresses of everyday life.”
Deena is also a wife and proud mother of Jennifer, who is currently studying interior design at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. Deena’s great loves are music, theater, good writing and seeing the world through the eyes of young children.
